Camilla Shumaker, President & Board Member

Camilla Shumaker has earned a stellar reputation as a business leader with outstanding management skills and multiple business successes. She has turned businesses from sluggish, slow moving, unprofitable companies into dynamic growth organizations.

Shumaker holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from GMI Engineering and Management Institute, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MS in Management from the Sloan School at MIT.

After 10 years at General Motors, and upon graduating from MIT, Shumaker was named General Manager of the Switch and Sensor Business at ITT Automotive, which quadrupled sales and became highly profitable under her leadership. She went on to run the Cockpit Division for Ford Motor Company with revenues in excess of $3 billion, after which, she served as president for Textron Fastening Systems Automotive Solutions, where she doubled inventory turns in less than four months. She then became CEO for the Alemite Corporation, and prior to joining microGreen, she served as president of Champion Laboratories, a business unit of United Components.

Shumaker is also familiar with small business ownership and start-ups, as she started 2 multi-million dollar business ventures from nothing.

In addition to all of her business and educational accomplishments, she was a General Motors Fellow, a Leaders for Manufacturing fellow and a Crain’s 40 under 40 recipient.

Miles Flamenbaum, Esq., Founder, Vice President of Corporate Development & Board Member

Mr. Flamenbaum is a business and corporate development professional with extensive experience in technology development and commercialization. He has focused his career as a senior manager in public, private and venture-backed companies to license, acquire and commercialize technology assets. Most recently, Miles was Director of Business Development and Administration at Medical Instill Technologies. He was also Director of Corporate and Business Development at Oxford Glycosciences Plc (OGS), a UK based company listed on both the London and NASDAQ exchanges. At OGS, Miles was Secretary of the Executive Committee, leading merger, acquisition and integration activities. Miles has successfully created and implemented business development and growth strategies. He developed relationships with customers and strategic partners, executing transactions resulting in the creation of over $165 million of value. Miles has managed cross-functional teams involved in product development and commercialization. He is also a member of the CEOConnex, a program sponsored by the Center for Economic Growth, a regional business accelerator based in Albany, NY. Mr. Flamenbaum is also an inventor on seven US patents. He is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College (BA), Boston University (MA, International Relations), and Brooklyn Law School (JD) and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Steven Schurman, Vice President of Sales

Mr. Schurman joined the SOMS Technologies team in April 2016 and has over 30 years of commercial sales and customer service experience. Prior to joining the Company he held senior sales positions at ITW Pro Ap, Pacific Press Technologies, and Champion Laboratories. Steve has led sales efforts across automotive parts industry verticals, including original equipment, aftermarket, installer and retail markets. He has deep knowledge of the automotive filtration industry and extensive experience selling to and supporting national accounts for both branded and private label automotive product lines.

Connie McKinney, Vice President of Operations

Ms. McKinney joined the SOMS Technologies team in May 2014 and has over 23 years of experience in automotive component manufacturing. Prior to joining the Company she worked for Accuride Corporation, a leading manufacturer of commercial vehicle components, where she was Corporate Commodity Manager. In that role, Connie managed procurement of over $800M on an annual basis from US and international vendors and suppliers to support product manufacturing. Prior to Accuride, Connie spent over 20 years at Champion Laboratories, a prominent automotive aftermarket manufacturer, taking positions of increasing responsibility for issues including cost control, inventory management, procurement, supply chain management, quality assurance, and vendor management.

Allen F. “Pete” Grum, Board Member

Mr. Grum is President and Chief Executive Officer of Rand Capital Corporation. Mr. Grum is a seasoned financial services executive with over 20 years of experience with financial services organizations. Mr. Grum oversees the Company’s investment activities and takes an active role in the investment process from deal sourcing to fund marketing. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Eisenhower College.

Gadi Paleg, Board Member

Mr. Peleg is a Founding Partner of Breslau Capital Partners, a value-driven, private investment firm focused on investment opportunities in consumer goods, financial services, telecommunications and technology with offices in New York, Tel Aviv and Panama City. In addition to SOMS Technologies, Mr. Peleg is an active investor and serves on the following boards: Atelier4, GreenGarage, eVolution Systems, and InkSure Technologies.

Prior to founding Breslau Capital, Mr. Peleg’s career has been marked by leadership positions in technology and sales at Oracle Corporation, and Cognos Corporation, which became IBM’s Business Analytics division.

Mr. Peleg is an active Real Estate Investor and is a General Partner of several Real Estate projects, including a beach-front development site in Panama and a development of residential condominiums in South Beach.

Mr. Peleg holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Owner President Management Program in 2008.
